Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Specialist to join our team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our continence care team, you will provide expert nursing care to patients with continence needs across the Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and investigations, including ultrasound bladder scanning, urine testing, uroflowmetry, and pelvic floor muscle assessment, to identify patients' continence needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote continence and improve patients' quality of life.
  • Collaborate with community nursing services to plan and deliver educational initiatives for internal and external partners, including District Nursing and Residential/Nursing home teams and primary care.
  • Work closely with the Continence Nurse Specialist and Service Manager to ensure that care is delivered in line with Trust policies and procedures and NMC Scope of professional practice and Conduct.

Person Specification

Education

  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Postgraduate qualification or study in Continence Management.

Experience

  • Experience of developing and training other healthcare professionals.
  • Extensive experience of working as a Band 5 in a continence service.
  • Experience of running community continence clinics.

Desirable

  • Mentorship training.
  • Formal training in staff and team management.
  • Teaching or training qualification.
