Job Overview

About Us:

At Mpac Group, we have been at the forefront of assisting businesses in adapting to evolving challenges for over a century. Unlike typical automation providers, we design comprehensive automation ecosystems tailored to the unique requirements of our clients. Our organization is built around our workforce, and we are dedicated to fostering a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and innovation.

Role Summary:

The Automation Solutions Engineer will possess a robust understanding of control systems software and will be tasked with visiting client locations on short notice to resolve issues related to machinery and equipment.

Your expertise is likely to have been honed through direct customer support experiences, coupled with a strong interest in control systems software across various PLC platforms, such as Siemens, Rockwell, and Beckhoff, with a knack for modifying code and troubleshooting software challenges.

Are You the Right Fit?

As a representative of our company, you will travel to client facilities to diagnose and resolve on-site issues.

You will deliver high-quality software design outputs by thoroughly understanding both internal and external customer needs, as well as regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include designing and developing PLC code from existing templates (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley) with a particular emphasis on Siemens.

Traveling to client sites for commissioning activities, post-installation support, or customer training is a fundamental aspect of this role.

Additionally, you will maintain a strong commercial awareness to ensure that software design solutions and scope modifications are managed in line with the company's standard operating procedures.

Effective communication of updates to the Service Team Lead, clients, and suppliers is essential.

Engage proactively in the department's continuous improvement initiatives.

Willingness to travel at short notice to client locations globally is required.

When not on-site, you will have the flexibility to work from home or commute to the main facility.

Always aim to enhance customer value by building partnerships based on trust, respect, and adaptability, while consistently providing exceptional service that exceeds competitor offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing PLC and HMI/SCADA software applications, primarily utilizing Siemens technology.
  • Conducting reactive maintenance and commissioning at client sites both domestically and internationally.
  • Providing technical support to clients and the aftermarket division.
  • Interpreting customer and regulatory requirements to ensure software designs are aligned, minimizing technical risks and ensuring first-time solutions.
  • Maintaining commercial awareness to maximize customer value and foster loyalty.
  • Contributing to the department's continuous improvement efforts to deliver the highest service value.
  • Reporting project performance to the Service Team Lead in relation to departmental KPIs, ensuring alignment with company strategy.
  • Collaborating with the Service Team Lead to provide technical support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in industrial automation software.
  • Background as a Service/Commissioning Engineer or in a customer-facing capacity.
  • Ability to evaluate technical requirements and propose viable solutions.
  • Skill in interpreting customer needs and delivering technical solutions.
  • Commercially savvy regarding resource utilization, scope changes, and their implications.
  • Proficient in applying technical due diligence and risk awareness.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Matched pension scheme.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work options.
  • Opportunities for career advancement.
  • Access to Perkbox.

We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, or sexual orientation. We are committed to providing support and adjustments during the recruitment process as needed.
