The Electrical Design Engineer will play a key role in the development of Mpac Lambert's next generation of automation machines. As a seasoned professional, you will contribute to the design of CE compliant systems, leveraging your expertise in regulatory requirements and innovative design solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-level electrical design output, ensuring a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and commercial awareness to deliver cost-effective design solutions.
- Manage workload and schedules to meet delivery deadlines, ensuring electrical design output aligns with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate project status effectively to the Controls Systems Manager, customers, and suppliers, ensuring proactive planning and collaboration.
- Contribute to the department's continuous improvement program, driving innovation and value-added services to customers.
- Provide technical input during project design review meetings, ensuring key design approvals are achieved in line with project schedules.
- Liaise with internal and external panel builders and electricians to ensure construction aligns with design documents, eliminating waste and ensuring efficient project delivery.
- Perform verification activities to ensure as-built installations align with design documents, applying technical due diligence and process risk awareness.
- Contribute to machine commissioning activities, ensuring all relevant design documents are controlled and archived in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
- Experience in software design of industrial automation, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and commercial awareness.
- Proven track record of providing innovative solutions, interpreting customer requirements, and presenting design solutions at internal design reviews.
- Commercially aware of the effective use of resources, scope change, and implications of choice, with a focus on delivering value-added services to customers.
- Knowledge of British and international standards relative to the design and installation of industrial automation systems, with experience in conducting assessments and generating technical documents to support compliance.
- Experience in validation procedures and application of GAMP, with a strong understanding of technical due diligence and process risk awareness.
- Apprentice-trained in electrical or mechatronic engineering, with a relevant engineering degree and 3+ years of post-graduate design experience.
- Proficient in the use of electrical design software and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize work within tight timescales.
- Reports to the Control Systems Manager.
- Working relationships with the Design team, Departmental managers, Customers, Suppliers, and Institutions.
