Mechanical Handling and Mooring Project Manager

About the Role
Mace is a leading global consultancy that delivers projects across the public and private sectors. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Handling and Mooring Project Manager to join our team in Plymouth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, manage, and oversee the implementation of mechanical handling and mooring design and manufacturing works to ensure client goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule, budget, and defined health, safety, and quality parameters.
- Effective communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage and review contractor reporting, chair progress meetings, and monitor contractor design, programme, and deliverables.
- Review and monitor key quality sign-offs, manage and audit factory acceptance testing (FAT) of cranes and mooring equipment, and review and monitor incoming changes and advise on scope change and programme.
- Issue monthly contractor performance reports to programme managers and review and liaise with temporary works coordinators as required.
Requirements
- Experience with engineering design processes, familiarity with procurement and contract management (NEC contracts), and experience in delivering mechanical handling/crane or other projects within a marine environment.
- Time management and organisational skills, strong influencing and people management skills, good communication skills, and a track record in working in a regulated industry.
- Relevant degree qualifications (in an engineering/marine discipline) or BTEC/HNC, CSCS, and nuclear and defence experience preferable.
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development, experience in project management, ideally in a property or infrastructure sector, and a developing knowledge of commercial and financial considerations.
