Job Title: Adult Disability Senior Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Disability Senior Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in North East London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with schools and other agencies to support children, young people, and their families in identified school settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with schools and other agencies to provide mental health support to children, young people, and their families.
  • Develop and implement a Whole School Approach (WSA) to emotional wellbeing and mental health.
  • Provide low-intensity CBT skills, intervention adaptation, and WSA delivery.
  • Work closely with schools to support the development of curriculum content to ensure pupils are taught about mental health in the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Graduate qualified health care professional (e.g. Nurse, CWP, EMHP, Social Worker, IAPT CBT Therapist, or OT).
  • Confident in working alongside both Children/Young people and Education settings.
  • Awareness of the importance of safeguarding and the role of a Mental Health professional in this.
  • Enthusiasm about reducing stigma and promoting understanding of mental health issues.

Person Specification:

  • Successful completion of a graduate training (e.g. nursing, social work, occupational therapy), EMHP/CWP qualification with 18 months experience or equivalent substantial CAMHS/EWMHS clinical experience.
  • Skill in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing complex, highly technical, and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers, and other professional colleagues both within and outside EWMHS.
