The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering a funding strategy to support the castle's new multi-million-pound project, 'Safeguarding the Castle for the Next 900 Years'.

About the Role

The fundraising team at Leeds Castle is responsible for securing funds from trusts, foundations, public bodies, and individuals to support the ongoing care and maintenance of the castle and estate. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Audience Development & Fundraising to drive forward the fundraising strategy, strengthen the trusts and foundations pipeline, and apply for match funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the castle's new project
  • Build and maintain relationships with trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies
  • Research and identify new funding opportunities and apply for grants
  • Work closely with the Head of Audience Development & Fundraising to develop and implement a robust fundraising plan
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the fundraising strategy and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a strong background in trust and foundations fundraising, with a proven track record of securing funding. They will be a highly motivated and resilient individual with excellent writing and research skills, as well as strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a good researcher and relationship builder, with a keen eye for securing great financial results to support the castle's ambitions.
