We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Specialist to join our team at New Appointments Group. As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support and positive outcomes for young people in our care service.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar setting and possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate at all levels. You will be responsible for providing support and guidance to young people living independently in their homes, assisting in developing their independent living skills, and promoting positive life choices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to young people living independently in their homes.
  • Assist in developing young people's independent living skills.
  • Promote and encourage positive life choices, such as social activities, budgeting, and education.
  • Update and ensure progress is made with care plans accordingly.
  • Liaise with social services and other professionals to ensure seamless service delivery and support.
  • Participate in service developments, including planning, control, monitoring, review, and evaluation activities to ensure continuous improvements in service delivery.

Requirements for the Role:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care and/or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one within a set timeframe.
  • Experience, knowledge, and understanding of working with young people, ideally within a care setting.
  • Driving License and own vehicle.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate at all levels.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Willingness to cover daily travel throughout Kent.
