Job Title: Sports Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Coach to join our team at GSL Education.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a background in sports coaching and experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will be responsible for supporting the class teacher and multi-agency teams in devising learning and care plans, and encouraging the child/young person to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher and multi-agency teams in devising learning and care plans
  • Encourage the child/young person to reach their full potential
  • Set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour
  • Support the child academically, emotionally, and socially

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN
  • Experience working in an education setting is not required, but experience working with young people in a support setting is desired
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour in an education, secure, residential, or support setting
  • Background in either Challenging SEN Provisions, Youth/Community/Social services, Residential Support, or Mental Health Support Services
  • Team Teach, Mappa, Nappi, or Pillars training is desired but not necessary
  • Clear Enhanced DBS registered to the update service
  • Ability to provide a full career history and 2 referees
