Company Overview:

Selby Jennings is a prominent player in the financial services sector, specializing in multi-strategy hedge fund operations. We are currently in search of a skilled Vendor Systems Administrator to enhance our collaboration with external vendors while maintaining a strong technical focus.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal system performance and addressing technical challenges that arise. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our vendor relationships and the systems they support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee system performance metrics and troubleshoot any arising issues.
  • Engage with external vendors to facilitate technical solutions and system enhancements.
  • Develop and uphold automation tools and scripts to streamline processes.
  • Contribute to the establishment and execution of DevOps best practices.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of system upgrades and migrations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role within the financial services industry, particularly in hedge funds or asset management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and SLA oversight.
  • Proven experience in administering and supporting third-party vendor systems, such as trading and risk management platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with configuration management tools, particularly Ansible, along with Puppet or Chef.
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with technical teams, traders, portfolio managers, and vendors.
