Overview:

Alexander Ash Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Vendor Data Analyst to drive the organization's vendor consolidation initiative. This pivotal role requires deep expertise in vendor management, procurement functions, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization's vendor consolidation exercise, ensuring a systematic approach to consolidating and classifying vendors across multiple companies.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of vendor data, identify duplication of vendors, and work towards creating a master vendor data system.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand where data resides, determine if vendors are properly classified, and assess the integrity of vendor data across different systems.
  • Engage with companies within the organization to address data duplication and improve the efficiency of vendor management processes.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills, including macros, to manage, analyze, and model data related to vendor consolidation.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to understand procurement functions and integrate this understanding into vendor strategies.
  • Provide detailed insights into spend analysis, commodity spend, and material information from a manufacturing perspective.
  • Develop and implement strategies for location planning for plants and materials based on spend analysis and manufacturing needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor management or a related field, with proven success in vendor consolidation and management.
  • Deep understanding of vendor management, including sourcing strategy, vendor classification, and master vendor systems.
  • Expertise in data analysis, with the ability to find, clean, and consolidate data from multiple systems.
  • Strong Excel skills (including proficiency in macros) to support data modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement functions and processes.
  • Experience in spend analysis, particularly in a manufacturing context, with the ability to provide detailed insights into material information and location strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple companies, particularly in organizations that have grown through acquisition.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors is a plus.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry with a focus on materials, sourcing, and procurement.
  • Familiarity with master data systems and consolidation processes in complex organizational environments.
