Senior Vendor Management Specialist - Telecommunications

The Communications Technology Services division is seeking a dedicated Senior Vendor Management Specialist to oversee Internet Service Provider (ISP) carrier relationship management for vendors based in the EMEA region. As a vital member of the Strategic IP Services (SIPS) Team, this role entails managing vendor partnerships, conducting performance evaluations, negotiating agreements, and collaborating with global teams to enhance standardization across the organization.

The successful candidate will possess a blend of business acumen and technical knowledge in telecommunications, with the capability to engage with both executive leadership and technical teams. Exceptional strategic thinking, data analysis, and communication skills are critical for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison for engagements with telecommunications vendors.
  • Facilitate formal performance evaluations with vendors and Amazon leadership.
  • Compile and present vendor performance metrics against established KPIs.
  • Identify strategic initiatives for the Global Vendor Management program.
  • Oversee vendor performance in relation to SLAs and enforce financial penalties when required.
  • Lead initiatives to address vendor performance discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline data collection and reporting processes.
A Day in the Life:
  • Gather and input vendor performance data into tracking systems.
  • Initiate vendor disputes concerning SLA violations.
  • Support supplier escalation processes.
  • Manage governance of voice and data circuits.
  • Drive negotiations to secure vendor compliance with key contractual terms.
  • Monitor and report on updates regarding program initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience in developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements.
  • Experience in establishing processes and coordinating release schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in data interpretation and making informed business recommendations.
  • Experience in negotiating complex legal agreements.
