The Senior Manager of Vendor Relations is responsible for orchestrating, guiding, and managing the operational facets of service agreements and vendor contracts as designated. This role aims to cultivate a strong collaborative partnership on behalf of McDonald's Corporation with its key vendors. The individual in this position must possess a comprehensive understanding of all elements related to McDonald's Technology vendor contracts and act as the primary contact for any issues arising from various functional areas, such as Application Maintenance and Development.
Immediate Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include spearheading the execution of multi-tier governance processes as specified in service agreements and adhering to McDonald's internal governance protocols concerning vendor oversight. This includes defining the roles of the Vendor Management Office (VMO) and the solution and service delivery managers who handle daily operational interactions with vendors.
Long-Term Focus
In the long run, this position will emphasize monitoring and enhancing the quality of relationships between McDonald's Technology and its vendors. The Senior Manager will also oversee direct resources, collaborating closely to enhance team skills and performance.
Core Responsibilities
The primary duties of this role revolve around the health of McDonald's partnerships with in-scope vendors. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and documenting effective communication strategies for McDonald's Technology and business partners regarding operational responsibilities and services delivered through managed services contracts.
- Fostering productive relationships with vendors to ensure effective communication and timely resolution of strategies, priorities, requirements, issues, and action items.
- Leading the governance process between McDonald's and its vendors to ensure ongoing alignment.
- Managing joint action items from governance decisions, ensuring thorough tracking and reporting.
- Monitoring the performance of the governance process and recommending improvements for its effectiveness.
- Advising McDonald's management on contract-related issues and disputes from identification to resolution.
- Collaborating with key partner groups to enhance the effectiveness of vendor contracts and relationships.
- Identifying additional sourcing opportunities within existing vendor relationships.
- Overseeing customer satisfaction surveys and implementing follow-up action plans.
- Conducting formal vendor reviews to assess contract performance and market competitiveness.
- Monitoring service level agreement (SLA) performance and supporting resolution efforts for any arising issues.
- Working with Technology leaders and vendors to establish and measure key performance indicators that add value to the relationship.
- Defining and directing performance management strategies and reporting processes for all in-scope services.
- Conducting quality assurance reviews of managed services programs and vendor processes to identify risks and compliance issues.
- Analyzing performance-related dashboards and service performance metrics.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- Extensive experience in IT contract management and relationship administration.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of outsourcing, contract administration, project management, and financial management.
- Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and large contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of IT outsourcing and performance management best practices.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritize and complete tasks effectively under pressure.
