Job Title: Director of Estates

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Director of Estates to join our team in London. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire contract, including maintenance, compliance, technical, and sustainability functions, as well as associated engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement engineering service structures and services in a large and complex healthcare environment, focusing on innovation and service development.
  • Lead and manage the operational estates provision, its managers, trade staff, and contractors, providing assurance to the Board.
  • Manage significant budgets for pay, non-pay, utilities, and capital allocations, identifying and delivering sustainable efficiency and improvement targets.
  • Represent the Estates and Facilities division at key operational and strategic meetings as a subject matter expert.
  • Monitor the Estates Department's operational efficiency and compliance against national safety standards and regulatory procedures.
  • Support the development of the Estates staff training program to ensure current and long-term competencies are available to deliver both the Trust objectives and the Estates Maintenance Strategy.
  • Provide tactical, strategic, and operational advice and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team, Portfolio Holders, and elected Members and relevant committees.
  • Oversee the senior management team, focusing on performance, development, attendance, and health and safety.
  • Develop and implement the Estate Plan in line with best practices in asset management.
Requirements:
  • Qualified in an engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical); C&G, HNC, HND, or higher (Highly desirable)
  • Experience of service delivery across a portfolio of commercial sites
  • Previous experience of managing a large engineering team
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • Healthcare or PFI experience would be highly desirable
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a demanding and varying workload
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
