Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Nurse - Child and Young Person Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating a warm and nurturing environment for children and young people with complex health needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Ofsted Registered Manager to develop and implement care packages that meet the unique needs of each child and young person.
  • Provide training and support to staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to deliver high-quality care.
  • Work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and young people.
  • Lead shifts and coordinate residential short breaks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, maintaining the highest standards of care and safety.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Current professional registration with the NMC.
  • Professional qualification in nursing.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in caring for children with complex health needs.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.

Desirable:

  • Relevant degree or working towards one.
  • Teaching or training qualification.
  • Experience in residential short break provisions.
  • Expertise in caring for children with challenging behavior.
  • Skills in developing positive behavior support plans.
  • Ability to drive.
