Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Emergency General Surgery to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals. This is a whole-time/part-time position available as of November, with the opportunity to job share.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and service at all stages of the emergency surgery pathway, from initial triage and assessment to surgery and post-operative care. This will involve working closely with other Consultant general surgery colleagues and supporting the development of our enhanced Emergency General Surgery Department.

The postholder will be expected to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care, participate in on-call rotas, and engage in clinical governance activities. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and contributing to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
