About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide a comprehensive paediatric respiratory service for children in the Thames Valley and Northamptonshire, working within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in paediatric respiratory medicine
- Develop and implement clinical policies and guidelines
- Contribute to the development of the department's strategic plan
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit and quality improvement
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Contribute to teaching and training activities
The ideal candidate will have:
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- MBBCh or equivalent qualification
- MRCPCH or equivalent qualification
- CCT in paediatrics and paediatric respiratory medicine or equivalent
- Current APLS certification
- Level 3 safeguarding training for children
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
- Higher Medical Degree (PhD or MD) or evidence of working towards a higher academic degree
- Experience in interpreting respiratory polygraphy
The post is a 12-month locum position, with a focus on maternity cover. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly, including on-call duties, and will be required to participate in a 1 in 3 on-call rota.
