The Role: Simulation & Clinical Skills Specialist Lead
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Simulation & Clinical Skills Specialist Lead to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial in shaping the future of healthcare education within Barts Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive clinical education programs encompassing essential clinical skills, high-fidelity simulation, haptic skills training, human factors, communication skills, and patient safety training.
- Collaborate closely with medical leads, clinical skills tutors, and education academy Fellows to ensure a cohesive and impactful learning experience for trainees.
- Promote a culture of patient safety and human factors awareness through all educational initiatives, aligning with the Trust's strategic goals.
- Foster an active and responsive approach to training and development across the Trust by implementing innovative clinical, human factors, and communication skills-based learning programs.
Essential Requirements:
- Current and extensive knowledge of acute hospital practice.
- Ability to discuss current and proposed developments in education and healthcare with expertise.
- Demonstrated vision for utilizing simulation technology for inter-professional training.
- Experience in managing a simulation team effectively.
- Proven ability to manage budgets efficiently.
- Previous experience in delivering large-scale education programs.
- Evidence of post-basic continuing professional development.
- Computer literacy: Windows 7, Excel, experience with simulation software and AV technology.
- Registered Nurse/ODP qualification.
- Post-basic qualification.
- Master's degree or a willingness to pursue one.
