Simulation and Clinical Skills Specialist Lead

The Simulation and Clinical Skills Specialist Lead is a critical position within the Education Academy at Barts Health NHS Trust. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the clinical skills and simulation programs that support the development of healthcare professionals across the trust.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate clinical education programs that encompass essential clinical skills, high-fidelity simulation, haptic skills training, human factors, communication skills, and patient safety training.
- Support the trust's long-term strategy to embed a culture of patient safety and human factors awareness through all educational programs.
- Promote and support an active and responsive approach to training and development across the trust through clinical, human factors, and communication skills, and simulation-based learning initiatives.
The Simulation and Essential Clinical Skills service is part of the Education Academy within Barts Health NHS Trust. It provides facilities and educational opportunities for both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees across the trust, supporting inter-professional education and training.
Requirements- Current and extensive knowledge of acute hospital practice.
- Ability to discuss knowledgeably current and proposed developments in education and healthcare.
- Demonstrates a vision for the future using the simulator for inter-professional training.
- Ability to discuss managing simulation teams.
- Effectively manage a budget.
- Previous experience in delivering education on a large scale.
- Evidence of post-basic continuing professional development.
- Computer literacy: Windows 7, Excel, experience of using simulation software and AV technology.
- Registered Nurse/ODP.
- Post-basic qualification.
- Master's degree or willingness to work towards.
