Your Role:

As a Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Events and Media divisions by offering sound legal guidance on commercial matters and revenue-generating initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing proactive legal advice to ensure that commercial opportunities are pursued with robust and favorable terms.
  • Collaborating with the legal team across various locations to share best practices and enhance collective knowledge.
  • Engaging with business units to deliver practical and insightful legal guidance on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Encouraging early involvement of the Legal team in all commercial discussions to safeguard the company’s interests.
  • Assisting with new initiatives and projects as they arise.

Travel and Working Conditions:

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Flexibility for late calls to accommodate meetings with the global legal team.
  • Some unsociable hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engagement in various events related to both sports and non-sports properties.

Working Environment:

  • This position is a Fixed Term Contract.
  • Standard working hours are from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in drafting commercial contracts.
  • Background in a commercial setting.
  • Training from a reputable legal practice.
  • Fully qualified Solicitor with 2-7 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend and articulate key points of commercial opportunities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficient in managing a diverse workload while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients at all levels.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration.
  • Passion for sports, media, and entertainment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in drafting contracts related to media rights, sponsorship, and agency representation.
  • Familiarity with cultural and sports organizations.
  • Experience working with senior executives in various organizations.
  • A genuine interest in sports, media, and live events.
