About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trainee to join our UK Corporates FX team at Société Générale Assurances. As a Trainee, you will play a key role in supporting our sales efforts to UK corporate clients, assisting in the preparation of market commentary, marketing materials, and indicative pricing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of market updates and proposals for clients
  • Compile indicative pricing of derivative structures and solutions
  • Conduct research on markets and clients
  • Prepare credit line requests
  • Maintain business data statistics
  • Report client information, deals, business follow-ups, and update Group databases
  • Assist sales with KYC/account opening process
  • Assist sales with payment/confirmation issues
  • Maintain and improve spreadsheets used by the desk
  • Establish strong working relationships with various business lines
  • Assist other London-based Corporate Sales desks on an ad-hoc basis as required
Requirements
  • A degree or equivalent in a Finance-related discipline is advantageous
  • Excellent mathematical skills – an ability to understand complex mathematical concepts and perform mental arithmetic quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail – an ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Communication skills – ability to interact effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Teamwork – a strong, collaborative approach
  • Self-motivation – an ability to take own initiative and act accordingly
  • Analytical skills – ability to assimilate significant quantities of information and use this data effectively
  • Flexibility – able to adapt to different circumstances and tailor behavior accordingly
  • Decision-making – the ability to make complex decisions in short periods of time
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • IT skills – excellent PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills required. A knowledge of coding is advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills required
  • Work experience within a financial services environment is advantageous
