Position Overview

Role Details

This position involves working closely with students who have special educational needs, specifically those with Autism, Complex Needs, and PMLD. You will be part of a collaborative team, working alongside the class teacher and fellow support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to pupils aged 3-11, ensuring their educational and personal care needs are met.
  • Engage in teamwork with educators and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Deliver personal care support as required, which may include changing, feeding, and assisting with hygiene tasks.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, such as physiotherapists and educational psychologists, to enhance student support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents to discuss student progress and well-being.
About the Educational Setting

This role is situated within a primary educational institution that specializes in catering to students with special needs. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) addressing their unique requirements.

Class sizes are intentionally kept small, with no more than 8 pupils per class, ensuring personalized attention and support. The school is equipped with excellent facilities and resources that facilitate a holistic approach to education.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate that is registered with the Update Service or be willing to obtain a new one.
  • Submit a comprehensive CV detailing educational and professional experience.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Possess some experience in supporting children with special needs.
