Position:
Special Needs Support Assistant


Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated and passionate Support Assistant to become a vital part of a primary educational institution.

The ideal candidate will assist the Educator in delivering exceptional educational experiences to children with special educational requirements and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the educator in the preparation, execution, and evaluation of lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Engage with individual students and small groups, offering tailored support and motivation to address their unique needs.
  • Implement a variety of specialized techniques and resources to aid children with autism, including visual supports, social narratives, and sensory activities.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of children's communication, social, emotional, and behavioral competencies.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for each student.
  • Maintain precise records and progress documentation to guide ongoing planning and assessment.


Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum.
  • Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and effective strategies for supporting children with autism in an educational setting.
  • Capability to utilize a variety of specialized techniques and resources to assist children with autism.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and exhibit a positive, adaptable, and proactive demeanor.
