Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Rota Coordinator and Education Team Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical staffing rotas.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the administration of medical staffing rotas, working closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure that all areas of the service are covered. You will also be responsible for managing sickness, annual leave, study leave, and special leave for all medical staff, identifying and escalating risks as necessary.

This role requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will be working closely with a range of stakeholders, including medical staff, consultants, and senior registrars, to ensure that our rotas are accurately managed and that our patients receive the best possible care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the administration of medical staffing rotas, ensuring that all rotas are accurately managed and up-to-date.
  • Manage sickness, annual leave, study leave, and special leave for all medical staff, identifying and escalating risks as necessary.
  • Work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure that all areas of the service are covered.
  • Provide assistance and advice to new and existing users of our rota management system.
  • Deal with swaps, shift time changes, and other roster changes, ensuring that all changes are accurately recorded and authorized.
  • Work closely with other medical workforce coordinators in the department, providing cover where necessary and mutual support at peak periods.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional who possesses the following qualities and qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent knowledge, with at least educated to 'A' level standard and above.
  • Proven literary and numeracy skills.
  • Experience of working with a range of people with different roles and levels of knowledge.
  • Highly competent with computer systems, especially with Microsoft products, such as Excel and Database.
  • Staff management experience, including management of sickness, absence, and performance.
  • Experience of working within the NHS, ideally working with medical and clinical staff.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with staff across all levels.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously when no line manager is present.
