Lead a Dedicated Nursing Team in Cancer Care

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Team Leader to join our dynamic SACT day unit at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to adults undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapies, and targeted cancer therapies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to all patients under your supervision.
  • Coordinate and manage the day unit operations effectively.
  • Mentor and educate staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of nursing practices within the unit.
  • Assist the ward Sister in their duties, providing leadership and support when needed.

Your Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN1) certification is essential.
  • Oncology or Haematology Care modules are required.
  • Completion of an accredited SACT course is necessary.
  • Proven experience at Band 5 level in Oncology/Haematology nursing.
  • Experience in staff education and training.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with composure and professionalism.

Your Skills:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Competency in cytotoxic drug administration is a must.
  • The ability to prioritize patient care effectively is crucial.
