Role Overview

We are in search of a proactive, driven, and ambitious individual to spearhead and cultivate our Compliance and Risk division as the Group Head of Risk & Compliance.

In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of the compliance and risk initiatives for our UK and EU operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the compliance and risk teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and innovation.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive risk and compliance framework for the organization.
  • Promote a robust culture of risk awareness and compliance throughout the company.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between various departments and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and refine the organization's policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to applicable laws.
  • Establish and manage the compliance monitoring program and risk assessment processes, evaluating the effectiveness of compliance measures.
  • Provide expert guidance, advice, and training to enhance understanding of regulatory obligations among team members.
  • Lead interactions with regulatory bodies regarding compliance matters and applications.
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory changes that may affect operations, updating internal records as necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver risk and compliance reports to the Board, advising on strategic directions related to these areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law, economics, business, or a related discipline; an MBA or Master's in Law/European Banking/Payments Regulation is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in a senior risk and compliance capacity within the financial services sector, including payments, banking, and investment services.
  • Proficient in Risk Management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across various business functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA and EU regulations concerning compliance and financial crime (AML/TF, fraud, ABC), as well as GDPR and investment services regulation.
  • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CISI or equivalent) is preferred.
