Job Summary

We are seeking a highly specialist applied psychologist/psychological therapist to join our Employee Psychology Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering highly specialist psychological care to clients with complex mental health conditions or learning disabilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention to clients with complex mental health conditions or learning disabilities.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to less experienced colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake formal research as an integral part of the job and act as field supervisor to doctorate trainees.
  • Promote a positive image of people with mental ill health or learning disabilities at all times.
Key Requirements
  • Qualification in psychological assessment and therapy (e.g. postgraduate diploma in CBT, IAPT High Intensity CBT diploma, CAT diploma).
  • Registration with a professional registering body recognized by the NHS (e.g. HCPC or psychological therapy body).
  • Accreditation in a governed psychological therapy via a recognized accrediting body.
  • Training in clinical supervision and care coordination.
  • Significant experience in consultation, clinical supervision, and audit activities.
Person Specification
  • Significant and specialist knowledge of psychological therapy models and complex methods of assessment and intervention.
  • Experience of working with complex cases and providing clinical supervision and consultation to other professionals.
  • Well-developed skills in communication, both verbally and in writing, to convey complex information to clients, family, carers, and other professionals.
