About the Role:
Caval Limited is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Site Engineer to join our team on a £30m new build hospital extension project in South West London. As a key member of the management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of this project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings and establish site reference points
- Manage on-site operations and collaborate closely with contractors and subcontractors
- Ensure strict adherence to design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Collaborate with the project team to facilitate seamless project implementation
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of all site personnel
- Conduct site surveys to establish reference points, lines, and levels for construction activities
- Execute quality control protocols to ensure all tasks adhere to required standards and specifications
- Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure they comply with design specifications and project plans
- Implement and oversee compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and environmental standards
- Support the acquisition of materials and equipment, ensuring they meet project specifications and are delivered on schedule
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, updates, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders
- Maintain detailed and accurate project records, including daily logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation
- Oversee and coordinate the testing of materials, equipment, and systems to ensure they meet required standards and specifications
Requirements:
- SMSTS and/or SSSTS qualifications
- CSCS Card
- Extensive background in the industry with at least 5 years of experience in a Site Engineer position or similar
- Experience working on projects within the healthcare sector is advantageous
- Additional skills:
- IT Skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective time management
- Competent surveying techniques
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Skillful in maintaining high quality standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in utilising construction management software, CAD tools, and other relevant technology
- Possess a strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and project specifications
