Job Title: Administrative Support to Endocrinology Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide administrative support to the Endocrinology Team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work alongside the clinical team within a supportive and encouraging environment, providing a full and effective administrative and clerical support service to a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the MDT, including arranging, preparing, attending, and actioning regular meetings.
  • Collect and maintain relevant information to support databases for audit purposes.
  • Deal with communications and ad-hoc enquiries from service users and internal and external agencies.
  • Take on additional and changing duties commensurate with the grade as directed by the Assistant Patient Services Coordinator in response to demands made upon the Department.

Person Specification
  • Knowledge and application of the Data Protection Act in relation to patient confidentiality and the appropriate care of patient information.
  • Ability to deal with enquiries in an appropriate and supportive manner.
  • Good general standard of education.
  • Microsoft Word for Windows.
  • Keyboard/data entry skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Requirements
  • Prioritising and managing workload to meet deadlines.
  • Use of patient information systems, such as PAS.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A broad understanding of medical terminology and its use within clinical correspondence.
  • Organisational skills and time management.
  • Understanding of customer care principles.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and emotive information.
  • Use of tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity with a wide range of people and in various situations.
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn skills associated with the role as may be required.
