Job Title: Staff Nurse - Oncology Chemotherapy

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Nurse to join our Oncology Chemotherapy team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and plan individualized care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT).
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Monitor patients' condition and report any concerns or changes to medical staff and senior nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Experience in oncology or haematology nursing, preferably in a chemotherapy unit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
