About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our Adolescent Services team at Kent County Council. As a Specialist Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing intensive support to adolescents and their families, empowering them to develop effective long-term solutions to manage their family relationships and overcome the risks associated with adolescence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, children in need, child protection, contextual harm, Court work, and rehabilitation home services to adolescents and their families.
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed approaches to support adolescents and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with key partners, including Housing, Education, Health, and the Police, to provide a comprehensive support package.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans to mitigate the risks associated with adolescence.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff members.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England.
  • Have post-qualification experience working with children and families, with a focus on systemic practice.
  • Have a deep understanding of legislative and policy frameworks, including contextual safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence (or be willing to obtain one).

  • A competitive salary range of £32,933 - £37,188, dependent on skills and experience.
