About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Adolescent Service team at Kent County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing intensive support to adolescents and their families, empowering them to develop effective long-term solutions to manage their family relationships and overcome the risks associated with adolescence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive support to adolescents and their families, working closely with them to identify and address their needs.
  • Develop and implement effective plans to manage complex situations, including extra-familial harm and family conflict.
  • Work collaboratively with key partners, including Housing, Education, Health, and the Police, to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting adolescents and their families.
  • Conduct assessments, children in need, child protection, contextual harm, Court work, and rehabilitation home work, as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with adolescents, their families, and other stakeholders, ensuring a trauma-informed and person-centered approach.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
  • Post-qualification experience working with children and families, with a focus on systemic practice and legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with adolescents, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • A willingness to learn and develop as a practitioner, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £32,933 to £37,188, depending on skills and experience. You will also receive a generous recruitment, relocation, and retention package, up to £13,000 in the first year. Additionally, you will have access to a range of staff awards and benefits, including 29 days annual leave (increasing to 30 days after 5 years continuous service) and flexible working arrangements.
