We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Adolescent Social Work Specialist to join our Integrated Adolescent Service in Kent County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing intensive social work support to adolescents and their families to manage complex situations, including extra-familial harm and family conflict.
Key Responsibilities- Build trust with hard-to-reach young people and empower them and their families to develop effective long-term solutions to manage their family relationships and develop strategies to overcome the risks that adolescents face during this phase of their life.
- Work across the areas of assessment, children in need, child protection, contextual harm, Court work, and rehabilitation home to provide a wide spectrum of skills and expertise.
- Develop and implement personalized development plans with our workers to enable them to feel valued and supported in their career development.
- Contribute to working groups and multi-agency forums to develop new initiatives and share knowledge and experience with the team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience of working with children and families, particularly those who have experienced adverse life events or trauma.
- An in-depth understanding of Children's social work legislation and a willingness to learn and develop as a practitioner.
- Excellent opportunities for professional development and the ability to consolidate your skills and knowledge, assisting you to develop areas of specialist practice, including trauma-informed practice and contextual safeguarding.
