The Role:

An exciting opportunity has emerged within British Airways Engineering for a Business Manager on a fixed-term contract.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer, you will oversee the execution of critical transformation projects, enhancing the performance, communication, and quality of executive stakeholder engagement, while driving improvements throughout engineering via analysis, collaboration, and stakeholder support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects, initiatives, and insights across the Engineering division, coordinating with various Engineering departments and central teams.
  • Proactively identify and address obstacles to cross-functional initiatives, serving as a liaison between engineering and other divisions.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and reports for management committees, boards, and industry presentations, collaborating with relevant departments.
  • Provide content from the Engineering leadership team to the internal communications team for distribution across Engineering and British Airways.
  • Utilize and continually enhance engineering analysis and insights.
  • Advocate for digital transformation within engineering, spearheading relevant initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful metrics to identify areas for enhancement and monitor the impact of process modifications.

Qualifications:

  • A creative yet strategic mindset towards planning, project, and process management.
  • Proficiency in utilizing and synthesizing data, insights, and statistics to derive improved solutions.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with a strong focus on execution.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of constructively challenging and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Solution-oriented problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to challenges.
  • A strong service ethic, comfortable addressing specific issues across various domains.

Experience Required:

  • Proven track record of building relationships to drive improvements is essential.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Familiarity with collaborating closely with senior leaders to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Advanced skills in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
