Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and diligent Benefits Officer to join our Benefits Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction claims, and Discretionary Housing Payment applications.
Key Responsibilities- Process claims accurately and efficiently in accordance with legislative requirements and DWP targets.
- Maintain knowledge of government policies and legislation related to benefits, including Universal Credit eligibility criteria and working practices.
- Develop and maintain expertise in functions, procedures, and systems related to the assessment of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, and Discretionary Housing Payments.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to enquiries face-to-face, over the phone, and online.
- Maintain accurate computerized records of data collected in respect of the administration and payment of claims.
- Experience in processing Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction claims, and Discretionary Housing Payment applications.
- Knowledge of Civica OpenRevenues and Workflow systems (training can be provided).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
