Payroll Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Team Leader to join our Head Office team in Bury. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless processing of payrolls for our 35,000 colleagues across various pay frequencies.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the completion of payrolls for 35,000 colleagues over 43 payrolls, including 5 Offshore payrolls, on a weekly, lunar, and monthly basis.
- Lead the team in meeting key deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to a high standard.
- Promote best practices and ensure the team prioritizes our colleagues' needs in their work.
- Train the team on payroll processing and legislative changes, monitor their performance, and support their career development.
- Proactively identify trends in queries and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues at their source.
- Provide guidance and support to the team and other departments as the go-to person for payroll expertise.
- Previous experience working with high-volume payrolls.
- A solid understanding of payroll, benefits, and general legislation, including offshore legislation knowledge.
- Strong time management and coordination skills to manage the team's workload and meet deadlines.
- People-focused with a desire to see the team succeed.
- Able to learn and continuously improve.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex pay queries to colleagues and team members.
