We're seeking a highly skilled Payroll Team Leader to join our Head Office team at JD Group. As a key member of our payroll team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless processing of payrolls for our 35,000 colleagues across various pay frequencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the completion of payrolls for 35,000 colleagues over 43 payrolls, including 5 Offshore payrolls, on a weekly, lunar, and monthly basis.
  • Lead the team in meeting key deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to a high standard.
  • Promote best practices and ensure the team prioritizes our colleagues' needs in their work.
  • Train the team on payroll processing and legislative changes, monitor their performance, and support their career development.
  • Proactively identify trends in queries and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team and other departments as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with high-volume payrolls.
  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and general legislation, including offshore legislation.
  • Excellent time management and coordination skills to meet key deadlines.
  • People-focused with a desire to see the team succeed.
  • Ability to learn and continuously improve.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain pay queries to colleagues and team members.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working with CoreHR payroll software.
  • CIPP or similar accreditation.
  • Experience mentoring a large team.
