We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Team Leader to join our Head Office team in Bury. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless processing of payrolls for our 35,000 colleagues across 43 payrolls, including 5 Offshore payrolls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the completion of payrolls within tight deadlines and to a high quality standard.
  • Lead and motivate the payroll team to meet key performance indicators and service level agreements.
  • Develop and implement best practices to improve payroll processing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide training and guidance to the payroll team on payroll processing and legislative changes.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to help team members develop in their careers.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across the business to resolve payroll-related issues and improve overall payroll services.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working with high-volume payrolls and payroll software.
  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and general legislation, including offshore legislation.
  • Excellent time management and coordination skills to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide the payroll team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
