ERT, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Satellite Operations Support Specialist to provide essential customer service and monitoring support for NOAA satellite systems at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility.

This on-site role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with network engineers and management to ensure seamless operation of these critical systems.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Proactively identifying alarms and alerts, responding promptly and effectively according to established government directives and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records by creating detailed tickets and daily logs of all activities processed.
  • Tracking and reporting any anomalies in satellite data through NOAA's ticketing system, ensuring they are efficiently assigned to the appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Providing timely and comprehensive support to end users via phone calls, addressing a wide range of technical inquiries.
  • Managing incoming emails received by the Help Desk queue, promptly responding to requests and resolving issues.
  • Actively participating in weekly meetings, offering valuable feedback to management regarding operational efficiency and potential improvements.
  • Conducting thorough research on unresolved technical problems, identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions.
  • Documenting, tracking, and monitoring all reported issues to ensure timely resolution and prevent recurring problems.

ERT provides comprehensive on-site training and certification programs to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a relevant professional position, demonstrating strong technical aptitude.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to timely completion of tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, contributing to shared goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite products (Gmail, Google Meet), along with familiarity with PDF documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently across various software platforms in a virtual environment.
  • CompTIA A+ certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Flexibility to work a 12-hour alternating shift schedule to support continuous 24/7 operations.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green card holders) and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain the necessary security clearance for access to government facilities.
