Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Maternity Clinical Skills Facilitator at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our maternity team, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining clinical practice knowledge and skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Maternity Clinical Skills Facilitator, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting staff in developing and maintaining clinical practice knowledge and skills
  • Role modeling the provision of safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care in clinical practice
  • Supporting individual staff, predominantly band 5 midwives, through educational programs that develop their knowledge and skills
  • Working predominantly in clinical practice, with an expectation to support the wider maternity practice development team in the provision of mandatory training days
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Experience as a clinical midwife, with a strong understanding of clinical practice and education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, women, and families
  • Ability to analyze complex midwifery problems and develop solutions
