Job Title: Lead Midwife

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Midwife to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical leadership for Maternity Telephone Triage, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, modern, women and family-centred services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional advice to other midwives within Maternity Telephone Triage settings
  • Ensure the smooth daily running of Maternity Telephone Triage, encompassing National Agendas
  • Lead by example and provide clinical supervision
  • Manage the efficient running of the Maternity Telephone Triage department at Worthing Hospital
  • Develop specialised programmes of care for women calling into Maternity Telephone Triage
  • Work closely with other health professionals to ensure individual packages of care are created to maximise best practice
  • Be included on the Manager On-Call rota to support operational management 24/7

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be an expert in the assessment of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care. They will have strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of National Agendas and the ability to provide clinical supervision are essential.
