The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join our thriving and friendly Northampton-based Commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small book of commercial business for existing clients and will be tasked with growing and developing a strong pipeline of new business in relation to various lines of Commercial Insurance, while ensuring full FCA compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Retain existing clients through active client management
  • Build clients' confidence in Astute through demonstrating knowledge and delivery of service
  • Identify and contact potential clients, converting to new business
  • Communicate the firm's proposition to clients effectively
  • Generate referrals and make introductions for the client to other areas of the firm's operations
  • Follow Astute processes and policies
  • Work within FCA rules and guidance as interpreted by the firm's compliance policies and processes
  • Proactively create, manage, and follow through prospects to create a pipeline of prospective new clients
  • Collect fees and premiums in accordance with the firm's processes
  • Build good working relationships with your immediate team and all other stakeholders and effectively network with suppliers and clients
  • Achieve assigned sales targets
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Commercial Insurance Account Manager, ideally with 5 years industry exposure
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products
  • Experience of working to high standards of FCA compliance
  • Consistent record of target achievement and business growth
  • I.T. skills including use of an insurance IT system, ideally Acturis or OpenGI
  • Strong organization skills
  • The ability to work to a high level of accuracy
  • Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers
  • Regulatory and compliance awareness
  • Willingness to work towards Cert CII or already hold qualifications
