About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Planning and Operations to join our team at Gleeson Recruitment Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our planning team and ensuring the smooth operation of our production planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Planning Team: Manage and motivate a team of planners to ensure the successful execution of production planning processes.
  • Production Planning: Develop and implement production planning strategies to meet business objectives, including ensuring plan stability, plan adherence, and timely passing of cars to sales.
  • Align with S/OP Cycle: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align planning with the Sales and Operations Planning (S/OP) cycle.
  • Support Business Decisions: Develop and run planning scenarios to support business decisions and drive strategic growth.
  • Capacity Planning: Work with manufacturing engineering to develop the manufacturing strategy and ensure that factory planning works within targets set by the business.
  • Operations Budget and Forecasting: Collaborate with finance to develop operations budget and forecasting, ensuring that factory planning operates within targets.
  • Lead Factory Planning: Ensure that all aspects of operations are operating at the most cost-effective solution by setting and agreeing daily throughput rates.
  • SOA Process: Work with demand planners to ensure that all SOA (amendments) processes are planned correctly to avoid downtime.
  • MPS Plan: Collaborate with the Q team to ensure that the MPS plan fits in and aligns with Q leadtime/constraints.
  • Capacity Tracking: Develop and maintain capacity tracking for all operations within manufacturing and logistics, working with manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and logistics providers.
  • Launch Planning: Work with manufacturing engineering and launch to ensure that launch planning is built into production plans, establishing the resources and strategy required to deliver current/new model content into production.
  • Operations Status Reporting: Collaborate with IT to develop and maintain operations status reporting using the latest business intelligence toolset.
  • Planning Processes and Data: Own the planning processes and planning data within the company ERP system, ensuring standardization of core processes and data held on the department's SharePoint.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Significant experience across supply chain functional areas and demonstrated ability to understand and manage complex supply chains.
  • Planning Processes: Deep understanding of planning processes and materials management.
  • Automotive Planning: Experience in automotive planning.
  • Team Management: Management of a team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience in successfully liaising and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Communication: Ability to operate at different levels of the business and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or STEM subject.
  • Microsoft Excel: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
