Job Summary:

Ricardo's Performance Products division is seeking a seasoned manufacturing professional to lead our high-precision machine shop and assembly teams. As the Head of Manufacturing Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, on-time delivery, and costs of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a large team of machine and assembly technicians, inspection, manufacturing engineers, programmers, and production control professionals.
  • Direct reports include Production Managers for Machining and Assembly, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Production Control Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
  • Lead a strong technical team to improve performance in all areas of the business, while planning for the future introduction of new equipment and business processes/systems.
  • Occasional travel to customers, suppliers, and other Ricardo sites to collaborate on business objectives.
  • Demonstrate a track record of leading large, skilled manufacturing teams to improve overall business performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Champion Health and Safety for the Performance Products MTC business.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Experience in planning and organizing, with the ability to implement new processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of machine shop processes and quality systems for automotive or aerospace industries.
  • Ability to work in a low-volume, batch machine shop environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in managing large skilled teams on multiple shifts.
  • Knowledge of turning, prismatic, and grinding machining operations.
