Position Overview:
This is a fixed-term role designed to cover maternity leave, focusing on enhancing member engagement and retention.

Working Hours:
  • Standard working hours are 36 per week, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of an additional hour as agreed with management.

Role Responsibilities:
The Lead Membership Coordinator, Community Engagement plays a vital role in the ongoing development and success of the membership program by implementing effective recruitment and retention strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to current and prospective members.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the membership program and contributing to revenue generation.
  • Providing timely and professional administration, including handling membership sales, renewals, and reactivations of lapsed memberships.
  • Monitoring member inquiries through the Membership inbox and collaborating with the Senior Membership Officer, Business Support to address complaints appropriately.
  • Planning and executing engaging member events and managing the production and distribution of regular communications, such as monthly newsletters and member publications.
  • Leading membership recruitment initiatives both on-site and online, while supporting a robust retention strategy through targeted communications.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in a membership organization or a similar environment. They should have a proven track record in event organization and communication strategies tailored to diverse audiences.

Essential qualities include:

  • Confidence and diplomacy in providing outstanding customer service across various communication channels.
  • Strong writing skills for persuasive copy and experience with membership databases or CRM systems.
  • Familiarity with Direct Debit processes and a basic understanding of GDPR regulations.

Compensation and Benefits:
This position is classified within Band 5 – Middle Management and Professional Specialists.
