Role Overview

We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Area 9 team. The successful candidate will be positioned in a location that is most convenient for them. Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in supporting the Commercial team with the administration of the Area 9 Maintenance and Response Contract, focusing on the reconciliation of costs and values for contract recovery.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the compilation of data for monthly reports and commercial activities related to the contract.
  • Providing timely and accurate reports as needed.
  • Supporting the pricing of new works in alignment with contract mechanisms.
  • Managing subcontractor work packages effectively.
  • Identifying and interpreting Key Performance Indicators and evaluating changes through rate analysis and compensation methods.
  • Participating in the preparation, presentation, negotiation, and agreement of interim and final accounts, including re-measurement.
  • Ensuring compliance with Colas' corporate governance and group standards in all commercial processes.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by your line manager.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field within Construction. While experience in highways is preferred, we welcome candidates from a Finance background as well. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with adaptability to change and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Organizational skills and problem-solving abilities are crucial, and a valid UK driving license is required for this position.

Compensation Package
