About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join our team at D R Newitt Recruitment. As a key member of our food manufacturing company, you will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence across our processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a dedicated team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain robust quality control and food safety programmes, ensuring compliance with HACCP and BRC standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous process and product improvements.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to industry regulations.
  • Manage supplier relationships to maintain product quality and safety.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, including customer complaints.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Manage the technical department's budget.
  • Participate in new product development, offering expert technical guidance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including HACCP and BRC.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
