About the Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payment processing for our diverse workforce. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll administration, from data input and validation to resolving employee queries and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll transactions for staff, pensioners, and other payrolls, including the collation and verification of documentation. This involves entering data into our systems, reviewing outputs, and addressing any discrepancies that fall outside established procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive support to managers, employees, pensioners, and external stakeholders regarding payroll-related inquiries. You will effectively communicate through various channels, such as email, phone, and in-person meetings, addressing questions about terms and conditions, tax regulations, statutory deductions, and other payroll matters.
  • Implement and advise on specialized payroll tasks, encompassing areas like debt recovery, incentive schemes, self-employment, redundancy payments, benefits packages, and more.
  • Support users who contribute to payroll processes through employee self-service, manager self-service, and other related systems. This includes user setup, guidance on system usage, input verification, and ensuring compliance with approval procedures.
  • Guarantee accurate payment disbursement to employees, including those with overseas bank accounts. Manage recalls and debt recovery as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing required information and implementing recommendations from audit reports. Maintain a clear audit trail of all payroll transactions in accordance with best practices.
  • Fulfill official requests for information from employees, senior managers, pensioners, government departments, financial institutions, and trade unions.
  • Assist senior payroll staff in conducting research, analysis, and fact-finding. Support the implementation of changes to payroll or HR policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with team members, other HR services, senior managers, various departments, trade unions, and representatives from external organizations.
  • Analyze and report on a range of payroll data, generating reports and statistical information for internal and external use.
  • Participate in year-end payroll processes.
