Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual for the position of Radiographic Support Specialist (Band 3) within our esteemed organization. This role encompasses a variety of essential duties related to radiographic assistance, utilizing a broad spectrum of imaging technologies, including X-ray, CT imaging, and Nuclear Medicine. Our department has recently been enhanced with state-of-the-art equipment following significant renovations, and we conduct around 250,000 imaging procedures annually.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate with our team of Radiographic Support Specialists, providing essential assistance to radiographers, ultrasonographers, and radiologists in their clinical tasks. This role also includes various administrative and clerical responsibilities.

With appropriate training, the individual will be expected to perform cannulation.

The position will involve exposure to our mammography and gynecological ultrasound departments.

A flexible approach to work is crucial, as our service operates extended hours throughout a 7-day work week.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Essential

  • A solid educational background, ideally to GCSE level or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with a GP or hospital setting.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a radiographic assistant.
  • Background as a healthcare assistant.

Skills

Essential

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient customer care skills.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of health and safety protocols within the department.
