Position Overview: Laboratory Technician in Food Structure

As a Laboratory Technician at NBI Partnership, you will play a crucial role in supporting academic and research initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will encompass the analysis of food samples, upkeep of laboratory instruments, and ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols. You will collaborate closely with the Lab Manager and fellow team members to advance scientific goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Food Structure and Bioaccessibility Laboratory Facility
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments
  • Ensure laboratory cleanliness and compliance with safety standards
  • Provide training on the operation of scientific equipment
  • Draft and revise standard operating procedures and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with engineers for the maintenance of equipment
  • Assist in the collection and processing of data
  • Monitor gas cylinder levels and inventory
  • Undertake additional duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Education: BSc/MSc in Biochemistry, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, proficiency in MS Office, knowledge of biochemical and/or structural analysis
  • Experience: Prior laboratory experience, quality control, and operation/maintenance of scientific instruments
  • Interpersonal: Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Additional: High attention to detail, commitment to promoting a positive image, and values of equality and diversity
