About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our high-profile data science team at Aviva. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of insurance through cutting-edge analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of data scientists in formulating problems, extracting and preparing data, applying modeling techniques, and deploying solutions.
  • Work with one of the richest insurance datasets in the world, applying sophisticated techniques and technology to all stages of the data science process.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to deliver projects and explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
Requirements
  • Highly numerate and educated to degree or postgraduate level in a relevant field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • Several years' experience with a track record of solving complex non-routine problems, and expertise in areas such as Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and AI.
  • Significant experience in data science processes, including problem definition, data acquisition and wrangling, modeling, feature engineering, and deployment.
  • Programming knowledge and experience with languages such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, or Spark.
What We Offer
  • Starting salary between £40,000 - £65,000 (dependent on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary (dependent on performance and Aviva's results).
